IAN'S NIGHT OUT WITH YEAR 12

In his capacity as Vice Captain at Woolooware, Ian and the other captains have been invited to the Year 12 Graduation Dinner. This photo shows his new clean shaven look and how proud his parents are.
I did have a victory today though - when I went to Miranda Fair with Jessica and Ian, I knew more kids than both of them put together!!

DAY +40 SCOTT'S BIRTHDAY

September is the birthday month in this family - starting with Lauren, then Stuart, Val, Aunty Jan, Colin, Ross and Keith, Jessica, Renee and on the 29th - Scott!! I am not sure St Vincent's Clinic Wintergarden Cafe was the listed as a must go place for a birthday celebration, but that is where Scott and I went today for the Lunchtime Special.

Pam had a surprise for us - a passionfruit iced butter birthday cake - thank you. Another way for Scott to put on those lost kilos.

Sue and Kirrel surprised Scott with a phone call from New York, one of many he received today from many friends.

At Day +40 we are almost half way to day 84 when we can hopefully reduce the three weekly visits to the hospital.

Scott is starting to feel less lethargic but has a long way to go before attempting a marathon.

And Jessica was thrilled to receive an offer to join the New Grad Program at Kareena next year, which she has accepted.

SEPTEMBER 26TH JESSICA AND RENEE TURN 21!!

Renee and Grandma at Renee's Party.
The two beautiful Birthday Girls!!

Renee and Lauren.

Renee, Stuart and Lisa.
It was an effort but Scott managed to attend this very special Birthday Party to celebrate Renee's 21st at the Oatley Hotel. It is not often that cousins share the same birthday, but it is the case in our family and this was always going to be a very special day for us all. Stuart's baby is 21, and our eldest child has reached this milestone.
The girls decided a while ago to have separate parties and to ensure that Scott should be able to attend, Jessica's party is on the 23rd October.

SEPTEMBER 22 DAY +35

Scott continues to improve as he attends St Vincent's three times a week for treatment. Another car, this time to take us to the hospital, this one donated by Bridgestone Tyres. Scott is starting to gain some energy and is now taking small walks up and down the street.

SEPTEMBER 19TH DAY +31 MILESTONES

There are a number of milestones to achieve in this Bone Marrow Transplant journey. The first is to get past the first 15 minutes without an incident, then 100 hours then 30 days. We have reached that point and the next milestone is about +84 days.

Jessica stepped in on Thursday to do her escorting job - this time with Dad. Another day, another Commodore from the Leukaemia Foundation Fleet. This is such a fantasitic service and we urge everyone to remember this charity.

Follow the link above to learn more about the transport service or the Leukaemia Foundation.

15TH SEPTEMBER DAY +27

Scott will need to attend St Vincent's for treatment for 3 days a week for the next two months, at least. The Leukaemia Foundation provides a great transport service - all you do is ring up and a car and driver turn up to take you to the hospital and take you home when you are finished!! This takes away the stress of driving in the city and more importantly trying to find a car park. We are so grateful for this wonderful service and urge everyone to remeber this charity.
As you can see by the photo Scott is making very good progress but is very, very, very tired.

SATURDAY 12TH SEPT KEN'S 50TH PARTY

This was one social event Scott has not even considered attending a few weeks ago but he made it!! Lucky it was an Australiana theme so the akubra could hide the lack of hair. Although we only make a brief appearence it was great to see so many people and allow Scott to start to feel normal again.

SEPTEMBER 9TH JESSICA'S INTERVIEW NO 1

Lucky Grandma has been looking after Scott and Ian and was around to help Jessica prepare for the interview at Kareena Hospital!
Scott continues to gain energy levels and weight at home. Tomorrow he returns to St Vincent's as an outpatient to measure blood levels, monitor his progress and adminiter IV drugs.
Jessica has almost finished her last clinical placement at St George ICU and is preparing for the next stage of her journey as a Registered Nurse.
Ian is still quite ill with glandular fever but hopes to make a slow return to school next week for his last week of classes in Year 11.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY SCOTT

FATHER'S DAY
Originally uploaded by luddite2008

Unfortunately Ian could not go to St Vincent's today to celebrate Father's Day. He has tonsolitis as well at glandular fever but Jessica, Val and Judy helped him celebrate a memorable Father's Day. We are hopeful he will be home tomorrow.

VIEW A SLIDESHOW OF OUR PHOTOS

I couldn't sleep so I started playing on the blog. I think this is a slideshow of the photos on the blog! I wish I could remember how I did it!!

THURSDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER DAY +15

The dawn of another day at St Vincent's. Scott must be starting to feel better as he is using the camera and tripod to show us what it is like early in the morning at Darlinghust.
His blood results show he is continuing to improve, but he is feeling very tired and still not really up to visitors but appreciates phone calls either to his mobile or his hospital phone 83824478.
If all continues to go to plan he hopes to be home next week but will be back and forwards to St Vincent's for the next few months.

WEDNESDAY 2ND DAY OF SPRING DAY +14

Spring marks a new beginning and we received some great news today. All the bloods are improving (red, white and platelets) without the need for transfusions and the graft appears to be working!! The only thing stopping Scott from going home now is his lack of appertite!! Does that sound like him?? The female stem cells certainly seem to have had an effect!!

Don't forget to feed the fish on the gadget!!

TUESDAY 1ST SUNRISE DAY +13

Scott must be starting to feel better as he woke up early to take the sunrise photos to show us what it is like early in the morning at Darlinghurst. He is still not eating much but tryingto stay active

MONDAY 31ST MY LIFE IS A SOAP OPERA!!

Just when things start to look up we have another complication thrown in!! We have an answer as to why Ian has been feeling so tired - GLANDULAR FEVER!! So the message for him is to rest. Just as well Jessica and Judy have stamina. Who said we were the weaker sex??

SUNDAY 30TH DAY +11

The night sky from Scott's window. On this Sunday night Ian was ice skating at Fox Studios and we could see the lights were on at the football stadium. When I picked him up he told me that Australian Idol was being taped.
He couldn't wait for the hairdresser!! Two doctors did the job. Still very sleepy but everything seems to be going to plan.
