HOME AFTER 5 MONTHS!!!
It's hard to believe its basically 5 months in hospital. They 1/2 kill you with chemicals and the bugs you pick up then send you home to build yourself up, only to have them do it again! The real hero is not me but Judy. She is looking after two kids, a house a mortgage and a high pressure highly skilled full time job. To date she has only missed two days of visiting me! I continually tell her to miss a few days more but she insists that its only for her piece of mind. Its our 25th wedding anniversery soon and I agonise over what to do for her or give her, the only reply is "Just get better!". With not a cent in cash to my name that's easy(!) all I have to do is exactly what the medicos tell me.

JUNE 21ST WINTER SOLSTICE
The days are going to get longer and the journey has started. This week has been marred by a few infections but the team at St George along with some blood donors who have supplied the platelets and whole blood, and the antibiotics seem to have helped get on top of things.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP??
So many people are doing so much to help us - thank you to everyone I don't want to list them all as I would leave someone out. The other thing to do is to consider donating blood or if you are younger than us (ie between 18 and 40) you could consider registering as a bone marrow donor.

JUNE 16TH NO IMMUME SYSTEM (AGAIN)
Although Scott has a very low immume system at present he is in very good spirits and is trying to improve his mobility and maintain his overall healthy state. The hospital is the best place for him to be at present as they can monitor his temperature and give him the odd blood or platelet transfusion when needed. We appreciate people staying away if they have infections and look forward to seeing you at home in the near future. Next Tuesday (23rd) is the day we go back to St Vincent's to learn more about the bone marrow transplant

JUNE 9TH POST CONSOLIDATION CHEMO 2
We thought Scott could come home today, but owing to his history after the last 2 bouts of chemo the doctors decided to keep him a few more days. Hopefully he will be able to get a day pass to visit Macdonalds!!!(the hamburger one). At the moment due to the danger of infection we would appreciate no visitors. He is still walking around the hospital keeping the nurses amused and staying ambulant so that is a positive.

FIRST WEEK OF JUNE 2009
This week Scott was back at St Geoge Hospital for Consolidation Chemotheraphy. So far the side effects have not been as severe as before. We hope he will be home again on Tuesday 9th June to prepare for the bone marrow transplant. We are due to see the specialists at St Vincents on Tuesday 16th of June if Scott has recovered sufficiently from the latest bout of chemo.
